We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the Sussex Police football team. Made up of officers from all departments, Sussex Police FC mainly play charity matches due to shift patterns of team members however they are on great form!
Last time out, they beat Surrey Police 4-2 at Three Bridges FC’s ground over in Crawley. In the process, they raised an amazing £2000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust – an incredible charity helping to save the lives of people with blood cancer.
Their 4-2 win vs Surrey Police
We were thrilled to hear about the opportunity of sponsoring this team as we are fully aware of all that Sussex Police do for the city of Brighton & Hove and jumped at the chance to help them out slightly. With their next match coming up in mid September, we are excited to see how they get on.
Think you know Brighton?
Last week, we came across the perfect quiz to find out just how much of a Brightonian you are! Created by GOAT – a local creative digital marketing company, this quiz will test your knowledge of the City in a typical Brighton type of way!
With just 7% of people getting all 10 questions correct, we managed a not so great score of 5 out of 10, with at least 2 guesses along the way. Give it a go and be sure to let us know how you score! You can find the quiz here!
A few weeks back, we announced our sponsorship of Mile Oak U8’s football team, who have just started their first ever season! We’re so glad to have been offered this amazing opportunity to show support for our local community, which we’re really, really passionate about – Brighton & Hove and the people in it are the heart and soul of what we do, so this was really a no brainer for us (also, we think our logo looks amazing on the kit, but we might be a bit biased!).
So, without further ado, let us introduce you to the wonderful Mile Oak U8’s football team and their coach, Nick…
How’s the start of the season been so far?
As we’re a new team, we are a bit behind the others that have been playing for 1-2 years already! We have had a bit of a slow start but the team is improving week in week out and we’re all very hopeful for the future.
How do you get the team ready for a match? Is there a favourite warm up or game?
Warm ups are extremely important to avoid injury and boost morale. The team love to play Piggy in The Middle which is a great passing game!
What kind of skills do the children take away from being part of a team?
By being part of a team it can really help with their confidence and it teaches them to listen, work hard and show respect for eachother. They can also build really good friendships through football which really can last a lifetime.
How has sponsorship helped?
The sponsorship from The Werks Group has been fantastic. It’s allowed us to purchase a match kit which makes the kids feel part of a team, and it also helps to keep it affordable for the parents by keeping the sign up fee low.
