What’s important to you guys?
Ethical sourcing and sustainability have always been important to us. Galia, who is originally from Argentina and a native Spanish speaker, has travelled extensively throughout Ecuador and Peru to source the finest cacao from cooperatives and cocoa collection centres.
She’s developed a direct link with the farmers we work with and is happiest in cocoa plantations, surrounded by cocoa pods. The amazing thing about cacao is that it’s so good for everyone, good for us, good for the environment and for the planet.

What is so good about cacao?
Cacao is high in antioxidants (3 x more antioxidants than green tea!), high in magnesium, iron, vitamins and minerals, is an anti-inflammatory and research has found that it improves blood flow, is good for the heart and brain function. It’s also easy to source sustainably from South America.
Cocoa (or cacao in Spanish) has grown there since Inca, Mayan and Aztec times. Cacao is a bio-culture crop and happily grows with other crops such as bananas and plantains, oranges, mangos and coffee. All the plantations we work with have a range of crops and the soil is fertilized by cocoa pods, bananas, oranges and other fruit. It’s why cacao from Latin America tastes so fruity and earthy.
